What is Design Build?
Design build is a process where the project owner makes a contract with one company to provide both the design for a project and serve as the contractor who completes the construction. (This is an alternative approach to design-bid-build, which is hiring one organization to create the design and having another organization complete the construction).

Why design build?
When choosing a design-build company you are choosing one entity that is responsible for your project from start to finish (design build is also known as single-source responsibility). This means all aspects of the project are being taken into account from day one. Studies have shown lower overall cost, less time wasted, improved product quality and improved overall coordination of labor and client input with design-build projects over design-bid-build.

Alternative Materials:
Next Generation Design Build is focused on construction of quality homes as well as environmentally responsible homes. In addition to design considerations for passive solar heat, maximizing space usage, and using land responsibly, we strive to recycle on the job site, use local materials, sustainable materials, and quality materials that will not need replacing as often. Some products such as SIPS panels increase the energy efficiency of the homes, other products such as paperstone use recycled materials instead of other non-renewable solid surfaces. The scope of more environmentally friendly materials is vast and can be worked into almost any home and any budget.
